[The Lede] Journalism, marketing, and corporate jobs. Issue No. 1!
We're off to a HOT start with jobs from Bloomberg, Forbes, Apple and more!
The Lede is now officially here! Welcome! If you’re just interested in the job listings, scroll to the bottom, and apply!
But if you have the time, bear with me as I explain how things will work around here.
Some housekeeping… My goal is to make finding a great job as easy as possible. The less time you spend searching, the more time you have to focus on tailoring your cover letters and résumés. With each listing, you’ll get the usual information—the job title, company name, and location. But I’d like to go beyond that by filling in some gaps that I often notice in my job hunt. Every listing will:
Be sorted by experience. What’s the point of even looking at a job listing if you don’t qualify for it? Job postings will all be true-to-level. That means “entry-level” actually means “entry-level” on The Lede.
Provide salary expectations. While this isn’t an exact science, it’s important to have salary expectations before applying and interviewing. It’s also important to know what your peers are earning to make sure you’re not being undervalued. Salary information will either be from the company itself, LinkedIn, or Glassdoor. I can’t promise every job will include a six-figure salary, but I can promise to always seek the best-paying roles out there.
Include benefits. All jobs posted (excluding internships and fellowships) will have benefits. If it doesn’t, I won’t even bother sharing it. That means no “full-time freelance” jobs (I’m looking at you, Epicurious 👀).
It’ll take some time to figure out the perfect formatting and the most viewer-friendly way to include all of that info. But, there are also style and formatting limitations here on Substack, so don’t be too harsh. 😅
Before we start, I’d like to make a small request. If you like what you read today, please share it with a friend! That’s it. Easy, right? Now, let’s get to the jobs.

Aside from applying online, networking is a great way to get a job, and possibly the most effective as well. It’s my biggest struggle, but we can work on that together. I want to cultivate a community of job seekers and employers. So if you are looking for a job but don’t see the right match for you, please leave a comment with your elevator pitch so any lurking hiring managers can find you! Similarly, if you are hiring, feel free to browse through the comments to contact someone who is seeking a new role.
Hope you enjoyed this issue as much as I enjoyed creating it. If you have any comments, recommendations, questions, concerns, or if you just want to chat, sound off in the comment section.
Till next time!
